Africa to add 9M SVOD subs

Despite strong growth, only 7% of TV households will paying for a subscription by 2028, up from 4% at end-2022.

Africa’s paying SVOD subscriptions will grow to 15.57 million in 2028, more than double the 6.15 million at the end of last year. Despite this fast growth, SVOD penetration rates will remain low – only 7% of TV households in the region will be paying for at least one subscription by 2028, compared to 4% at end-2022.
